the day the child realizes that all adults are imperfect, he becomes an adolescent;the day he forgives them, he becomes an adult;
the day he forgives himself, he becomes wise.
- alden nowlan
I can only speak for myself, but I thought adults were some sort of superheros. they could do anything. drive cars, buy candy, ask for directions (lol). but as a teenager you really start to question adults and their authority, because you get a first whiff of independance yourself - may it be financially or vocally.
reaching adulthood for me came with a side of disappointment. adults aren't invincible and allmighty. they make mistakes, they get offended and hopeless. maybe the high standards I had for adults were in my own way of growing up.
but it's ok, because in the end, we're all just human, and I firmly believe we're allowed to make mistakes and change our mind. I daresay I intentionally want to be a different person every day!
